Yogurt, do you feed it?

Romeo's stomach sounded like a symphony when I first rescued him switched him to raw and give him yogurt, low fat no artificial flavors, he loves it no more stomach or breath problems.

Which one you do guys prefer for your pup....whole milk plain yogurt or low fat? I know that nutritionally, they are pretty much the same (one just having a lower fat content)....

Yes, Trixie has plain yogurt frozen with other goodies in her Kong.  On the days she doesn't get a Kong I put a teasp of it on her food 2 x daily. .

Does yogurt help give your dog get a better coat of hair? (shinnier/softer)

I personally don't notice a difference in their coats with yogart....just a major reduction in the toxic fumes.  Fish oil is more likely to help the coat.

Maybe it is the combination of better food, olive oil and yogurt.  I think some of his dry skin was psycosamatic (sp) do to nerves too.  But I do notice that his tummy does roar and he doesn't burp when he has his yogurt.  His flatulance isn't quite as bad and his breathe not so stinky.

whats considered a dollop of yogurt?  A tablespoon?
That's a good question!  I would guess a dollop is a small amount, I'm sure Sandra will explain.  A dollop is not measured.   I would say it's probably a  teasp for a small dog and a tablesp for a large.   We will see.......  [sm=wink.gif]

I don't know about a better coat etc., yogurt keeps the friendly bacteria in the digestive track.

Yep, they each get a dollop of organic yogurt with dinner every couple of days (except when i forget to buy it!)

Whenever on antibiotics he gets it. He also gets some (about 1Tbl - 2Tbl when I think of it. Also feed it if he is really stinking up the joint or has tummy trouble.

He regularly gets the cup from my morning yogurt - you should see him licking like to mad to get every last speck. Blueberry is his favorite. I but the low fat with active cultures (Breyers fruit on the bottom is both of our favorites)
Sometimes he gets the cup stuck on his snout, but his tongue is still licking away!! Talk about cheap entertainment[:D]
