Wellness Chicken & Sweet Potato (also has ground barley as the 5th ingredient - I suspect the barley isn't a great ingredient, but the other ingredients looked great)... Solid Gold Turkey, Ocean Fish (has brown rice - probably not a terrible grain)...

Just knowing that info, you're already waaaay ahead of the game! I give you tons of credit for figuring that stuff out yourself! [:)]

I think all of the foods you got are fine, but my favorite canned foods are Innova EVO and Nature's Variety. My Shih Tzu eats about half canned and half kibble, plus part of my meal when I eat healthy. My favorite kibbles are Eagle Pack Holistic and Timberwolf Organics.

It probably seems a little weird that I like different brands of canned versus kibble, but here's the reasoning. I don't like Innova EVO kibble because it has a really high amount of ash (12% if I remember correctly). Nature's Variety kibbles all (except for their grain free one) have barley. I can't feed Eagle Pack Holistic canned because they (except for the duck variety) have brewer's yeast, which my dog is very allergic to. And Timberwolf Organics has just recently come out with one canned variety and it isn't carried at my local petstore. So! lol

Mudpuppy - That booklet sounds like exactly what I'm after !  terrific - thanks for the info.

Luvntzus - I read alot of your posts and I'm so glad you responded :)   I use Evo as a treat to up the protein in her diet and the kibbles are really teeny so they're a perfect size for training.   I mixed up the soft food brands and flavors to ensure that she has variety in her diet in case one brand / type is "missing something".

Prancer thanks all of you !!

EDIT - I just ordered 3 of Monica Segal's booklets - they look very interesting, I can't wait to get them !
