Timberwolf Organics question

    • Gold Top Dog
I haven't bought any W&N since September-ish, but both my 4 lb. bag AND my 16.5 lb. bag smelled good enough for me to eat.

    Weird.

I have a brand new bag of Wild n Natural that I will be opening tonight. I'll let you guys know if anything is funny about it.

I posted on the old board about a bad smelling bag of W&N - and the dogs wouldn't go near it. That bag was purchased directly from Timberwolf.

Back when I was using the W&N, the second bag I bought had a very different, HORRID/foul smell to it (and it was a recently ordered bag, well before the expiration date, and didn't have any holes in the bag or anything like that)....not sure what was going on there. If you look back I had some posts regarding the smell...

A little worrisome so many people have experienced bags of the W n N with a bad odor. I know you started feeding Wolfie the Nature's Logic. Are you still happy with how he is doing? What about your concerns with the vit. D? This is one food I can buy right down my street! I'll still stick with the W n N as long as my bags seem fresh, but Nature's Logic is another I have thought about trying.

So far, so good with the Nature's Logic.  I was sent a copy of the nutrient anlalysis of NL lamb, chicken, and duck & salmon formulas and it now has sufficient vitamin D (and is well within range of the NRC standards).   He just finished a small bag of the lamb and is now eating the duck & salmon formula (which he seems to like more than the lamb).  I will probably stick with that one (or rotate between the lamb and chicken too...who knows, lol) if he continues to do well.

Really good to know. I think that was one of my main concerns with the  food.

    Hi Guys!

Chris here from Timberwolf Organics customer support...

At this time we have not had any substantial issues with the Wild and Natural formula. I have not had any widespread reports of foul smells or issues with dogs getting sick, or simply not eating the food. After reading some of the things you have posted, I will do some research to see if there have been any issues in the past.

On the subject of freshness, I know that the product that is shipped directly from us (ordered from the website) is usually only about two weeks off of the production line.

Please let me know if you guys have any issues with this or any other formulas by shooting me an email at christopher.porch@timberwolforganics.com or 407-802-7865.

    Thanks,

    Chris Porch

Today my Pugs had 3/4s the Timberwoof mixed with their old food, and their stools the last two days have been smaller than I have had in ages. Always a good thing with multiple dogs! Much better than when on Evo, did not agree with most of my Pugs.  Too soon to tell about coat condition, but so far, I am really liking this food, and so are my Pugs

That was my main concern as well.  I also wanted to mention (as I had asked the company) if that was the nutrient analysis of the raw ingredients or the food after processing, and it was after processing, which is even better [:)].

I do want to add that Wolfie did do well on Timberwolf Lamb, Barley & Apples formula which I wouldn't hesitate to use again.  However, I also noticed a different size kibble (by a very small amount) from bag to bag....it isn't a big concern for me as it looked and smelled the same, but I don't think it is a good idea to do that to "test" out different sizes of kibbles as it can cause consumer "alarm"....for obvious reasons.

I agree. Many people buy a certain brand for the size of kibble. The bags should really have some sort of statement saying kibble size might very. I know, if I saw a different size kibble, my first thought would have been that maybe they mixed in the wrong kibbles. Especially for severe food sensitive dogs, they would really have cause to be alarmed

I have one other question, does any one know where Timberwolf is being manufactured now?

Just to let everyone know, the brand new bag of Wild n Natural I opened on Friday was perfect. No size differences in kibble and it smelled really good - no foul odor.
