Nature's Logic analysis (for those who requested)

Oh I'm sorry to hear that...that does sound like quite a reaction.

Thanks Papillon. I fed him his normal EP Holistic for breakfast yesterday morning and then skipped dinner last night to give his system a break. He didn't scratch at all last night and today he's 90% better. All of the red bumps are gone, the underside of his tail is just a little pink, and of course it'll take a little while for the scabs in his ears to go away.

How is the food working for Wolfie?

    Just an update

So far Wolfie has been eating the Nature's Logic lamb formula and NL duck & salmon canned since I last posted this.  I know it hasn't been that long, but he seems to be doing very well on it (especially as far as poop goes).  He hasn't lost interest in it yet and has been continuing to eat it with excitement (that makes me happy, lol).  I'm hoping it will continue to give good results and I def. recommend it for ppl to try! what are their ingredients?

    Are they grain free?

Do they have a fish only formula?

    Chewbecca--

They do not have a grain-free kibble at this time, nor a fish only formula (they have a duck/salmon formula).  The canned varieties are grain free.

    thank you, tzu_mom.

I'd get it in a heartbeat if they had a fish only formula.
Heck, I'd get it if they had only one protein source. Ever since Ella's skin breakout (though I'm pretty sure it's linked to the wheat) she doesn't get any grains and I have her on T.O.'s Ocean Blue. Her poops are better since I've added the Prozyme and broken her meals up into smaller portions. She doesn't have the gas anymore.

    Here's their sitehttp://www.natureslogic.com/products/dp.html

No they do not have a grain free formula. The only grain they use is millet, which is a high protien grain. There protien percentage is 36% in all of their foods.

No they do not have a fish meat formula. They have a Duck and Salmon formula, but it is not exclusively fish.

So I wanted to post an update as there seems to be a problem arising.... *sigh*

For the past 4-5 days, Wolfie has had SWAMP GAS.  And by swamp gas I literally mean we have to leave the room, lol.  At first I just shrugged it off assuming that maybe he got into something or DH fed him some cheese (lol) but that apparently doesn't seem to be the case.  He has been farting twice a day and doing so 3-4 times in a row [&:][&:][&:]

Finally, I decided to stop ignoring it and I just fed him a sample of Chicken Soup puppy (the only thing I had on hand) for the past two nights and guess what....no gas.  This is really frustrating because I was REALLY wanting NL to work out.  Technically nothing has been negative except for the gas, but it is seriously unbearable.  Now I begin the hunt again.... [:(]

Ewww. lol Sorry to hear about the new unpleasant "development" on Nature's Logic. I wonder why it took so long to not agree with him.

No clue.  I'm thinking it has to do with the absence of enough fiber (esp. since he had a similar thing while on EVO) which would make sense as to why symptoms wouldn't occur right away.  Not quite sure what I will try next.  I just cannot bear the gas anymore...it is REALLY bad, lol.  Right now  I'm giving him some samples that I have left over (I have a box-full of chicken soup puppy and artemis fresh mix small breed adult).  *sigh*

Hmmm, that's really interesting. I don't blame you at all for not wanting to wear a gas mask around your own home. lol [:D] I think Artemis Fresh Mix and Chicken Soup are great foods! They both seem like a good option.

Sammy didn't do well on the Nature's Logic free samples they sent us.....  and it was just 4 flavors and tiny bags that I mixed in with Canidae for him.  He gets this coughy, phlegmy thing and sounds like a honking goose and reverse sneezing and vomits up something thick and nasty when food doesn't agree with him.  Happened with the Sea Meal stuff I paid $20 for as well.  Not sure which flavor did it, we mixed two in one day and two the next and it happened both days but I dont remember which kinds we did when.

I should compare ingredients and see what they have in common....
