Cherokee ate a bowl of fat

Well, you're right about that, but my vet recommends eggs versus cooked meat for bouts of tummy upset. I suspect egg is more digestible in general, plus consider the amounts in question. The following figures are for 100 grams each, or almost 1/4 cup of egg or two medium per meal. I split an egg between two to four servings typically. On the other hand, 100 grams is only a few one-inch cubes. Really easy to make a boo-boo.

For recovering from actual full-blown pancreatis she recommends a tiny taste of the baby food. This is not for nutrition, but to get the system used to normal food as gradually as possible.

Total lipid (fat) g egg: 12.21 beef bottom round, braised: 6.30 babyfood: 5.40

She seems perfectly fine, so I'm not too worried anymore, but I'm still watching and waiting...

I'm glad to know that she's not acting like she's sick, but as long as she has dark sticky stools I would keep a close eye on her.

My first Irish Setter once got a lild off a shortening can that I had put my old deep fryer grease in (veggie oil) and drank a lot of it.  Only I didn't know it til the next morning when i found spilled oil on the floor plus the lid, and oil was spilled out on stuff in the trash can (it was almost full) and I knew Red had gotten into it.

Then the shocker, a HUGE pool of what looked like pure blood by the back door.  He came up to me and I could see his wet tail and rear leg feathers.  i rushed him to the vet.  he was on a very bland diet for a few weeks.  Both canned food and kibble was to rich (according to my vet) and he had me feed Red those Gainesburger pattiies and pouches of what looked like ground meat.  He was fine and I had him several more years before a spinal infection took him at about age 11 or 12 (he had come to us as a stray, so were un certain of his age, but the vet's best guess was about 3-4 when we got him and had him 8 years.

Just thought I'd do a little update. Yesterday her poop looked pretty normal, but I got brave and poked it with a stick. It was not at all uniform. In fact, I could see little bits of undigested potato. My guess is the potato wasn't cooked as well as I thought it was. But it could have also been digestive, i.e. pancreas issues, obviously, so that freaked me out a little bit.

Today, there are three piles of poop in the backyard. One in Jaz's normal spot, two in the garden where neither normally poops. They all look perfectly fine and normal. One in the garden is a bit smaller than the other two, so my guess is that one is Cherokee's, and the others are Jaz's, but I can't know for sure. Normally, if she hasn't gone in a day, her belly feels full. It doesn't. I'm hoping and thinking this means she's fine, but we shall see.

That's great news; looks like Cherokee's going to be okay. [sm=dance.gif]
