I've tried Maxximum Nutrition, then Authority, then Chicken Soup for the cat lovers soul, now im back with Maxximum Nutrition.  She does well on Maxximum and Authority but not on the Chicken soup.

I rotate Annamaet, Maxximum Nutrition and Chicken Soup dry foods - after a lot of trial & error, these are the brands my cats do best on.  I also feed Iams canned, which is very good, although Iams dry was terrible for them when I tried it. They also get bits of meat, fish, yogurt and cheese when we have leftovers.

I feed Meow Mix and Blue Buffalo in rotation. I know Meow Mix is yuck, but she loves it. I did free feed, buyt have noticed a slight weiggt gain, so am now regulating the food. She has taken to this well. She also regulates how much she eats.

I use Blue buffalo for my kitten. I use dry and wet, but mostly wet as it is better for cats anyway :)

Natural Balance kibble, and home cooked meats and some fish.
It's really funny because Tiger likes raw ground beef, Bonkers likes it cooked.  But, when I got some chicken hearts, Bonkers stole one and ate it raw, so I gave one to Tiger and he walked away. [8|]

My cat eats a mixture of Solid Gold and Chicken Soup Adult Light....he needs to lose a few...or a ton [8D] lol  He gets varied canned food as a treat every once in awhile...he gained a lot of weight on a mostly-canned diet.

My cats get science diet w/d (one cat has allergies, the other has bloody urine on anything else) and I give them Innova EVO canned food because I have it lying around. I tried switching to the EVO as an alternative weight loss program, but they both got some serious diarrhea after about 3 weeks of being normal and that freaked me out...
