I mix raw with kibble for all but one of my dogs. Half of their diet is raw/other fresh foods, and the other half is kibble or canned Blue Buffalo. Ogre, my Akita, is 85 pounds, and very active. He gets 1 1/2 cups kibble over the course of two meals, and then 2 1/2 - 3 pounds of raw at night. As long as he gets enough exercise, he stays at a healthy weight on that amount of food.
Initially, I was giving him 1 1/2 cups kibble, and 2 cups of raw meat- since on kibble, He eats about 3 1/2 cups a day. 2 cups of raw turned out to NOT equal two cups of kibble, and he was getting a bit too thin. So I stopped measuring it, and just slowly increased the amount of raw he got until he stayed at a healthy weight.
So, my advice to you is just to expirement. If all you want it to add a thigh to their food occasionally, I would just slightly decrease the amount of kibble. I also would feed the raw and kibble seperately- whenevr I've tried too feed both at the same time, it's resulted in upset tummies.
