Why is milk bad?

I did take both girls (individually, they got it ONCE this year) to Bruster's for a doggy sundae, on their birthdays. I figure, once a year, they can have something that's terrible for them (it's full of sugar and all kinds of stuff, and it had a milk bone shoved into the top of it.... neither would eat the fake treat, though;).

We have a Bruster's where I live too and Gingerbread has gotten the doggy sundae once too. It's so cute with the milkbone on top. It's also something that I know isn't healthy for him, but like you, I don't mind letting him have that treat every once in awhile. [:)]

Milk is bad because she's not a baby cow

LOL! Agreed! But unfortunately most people have it so drilled into their heads by the dairy industry that milk is aboslutely necessary for good health, that you'll never convince them otherwise. [:'(]

I do eat dairy sometimes, but then again I eat a lot of stuff I know is bad for me, [:D]. Straight cow's milk, as in not made into cheese or yogurt, makes me gag. It tastes like..Oh I don't know..cow secretions or something!

Sorry, that was pretty wrong.. [sm=crazy.gif]

Well if I was anti milk I too may have teh same view. However many people still believe in milk. I grew up in a household where you couldnt leave the dinner table unless you drank all your milk, and thruthfully I think it isnt something so bad as what a lot fo parents give their children, he he!

I was so nervous about her having the milk BECAUSE of her sensitive tummy but after reading some posts I decided that if this is one of the treats she can have without getting sick then why not?
I gave her some last night and she was so happy, ha ha! I should have taped it, she was doing the happy wiggle butt dance all over the kitchen. I make her sit before I put her bowl down and she's great about that but you should have seen her shaking for me to give the ok command, she could hardly contain herself! And guess what? No runny stools this morning!
    Thanks everyone!
