raw feeders and poop: Question about not pooping

Ok, here I am!

What percentage of the raw part of her diet are the RMBs?  If it's more than 50-55% that might be the problem.  Try decreasing it and increasing the muscle meat.

Bone IS fiber (for dogs) so you don't have to have any other "fibers".  You could try raw green tripe if you are concerned.  Most dogs LOVE it!  You can do the canned but that has been cooked (part of the canning process).  I would try finding the 100% raw stuff.

As long as she is eating and drinking ok, her energy level is ok and she acts fine I would be very surprised if anything was wrong with her not going for a day or so.  Blockages usually cause signs pretty quickly.  A dog that can't pass stuff won't want to eat stuff (unless the dog is my 'I'll Eat Anything' Cocker).

Following the guidelines in Monica Segals raw booklet, Mattie, at 65 lbs needs a little over 3 oz of turkey neck, or 6.5 oz chicken necks or wings per day , for a couple examples.She eats around 1.6 lbs a day, if that helps.

Ella eats 1.2 lbs. a day in raw.

have you tried a Walkydog device for your bike rides?
 
I wouldn't worry about the poop unless she seemed uncomfortable, stoppd eating, was farting a lot, or didn't go for three or four days.

Yes, I looked into a "springer" which I plan on getting in the future, just can't afford one right now.

I want some rabbit for her and I want some green tripe.

I have been oh-so pleased with them. I LOVE the goat pieces, and the whole rabbits and ducks. I slightly thawed the duck and cut it up - as Ginger's only 25#. She got the rabbit whole, but that was a bad idea. She ate the whole durned thing at once - almost a whole week's worth of food for her. [sm=rotfl.gif] I'll have to do the same thing with the next rabbit, and cut it up and feed it over several days.

Anyway, I got the 2 # gr tripe and spleen (along with the rest of my order). It came in a tubeish thing - imagine cookie dough. I thawed it slightly, took the wrapper off, and cut the roll into slices (again, imagine cookie dough). I then froze those rounds individually laid out on a cookie sheet lined with wax paper. Once they were frozen, I popped them off, and into a freezer bag. Now I just pull out a little disk, and its just the right size. Oh - be ready. It doesn't exactly smell like a walk through a lilac field. []

YAY. I can't wait for stinky tripe!
