feeding raw

Stupid question but my dog is also on NB venison and brown rice. He's a cocker spaniel, 1-1/2 years old. I thought about the low protein but how do you know if he needs more protein? Do they have less energy?

Jessie gets the EP Holistic formulas except for Chicken, which she's allergic to; they're about 23% protein.  I supplement with cooked egg, meat, or canned food daily to give her a little extra protein. I'm not sure how you tell if they're getting enough protein but she's eight and senior dogs need more protein than younger dogs to maintain thier muscle mass.

I give him the Nature Vairty premades in his bowl on the porch.   If I gave him RMB, he would go bury it in the yard.

I gave Holly her raw meat (no bones) in the kitchen.  She was on buffalo  and calcium supplement in her last months.

As soon as one of them picked it up and started to move I said AHH and put it back. When he did it again I said "Bummer" and put it back in the freezer. I sat and watched TV for about 10 minutes while he tried to figure out what the heck had caused that bone to be put back in the freezer.

This is how i trained my dogs to stay on the mat! One of mine who has an issue with authority [;)] still tries to sneak off every now and then, but as soon as the AHH word is spoken he moves back to the mat,it's so cute,he'll usually have his back to me,you'll see his ear twitch in my direction, but he wont look at me,then you'll hear a sigh and he'll shimmy back to the mat[:)]
