Going overboard???

I don't know why it is so expensive here. I have checked out the prices of other quality foods and they are all over $2.00. I'm gonna end up in the poor house[sm=sad.gif]

If i had the money my whole house would be kitted out for my dogs.I'de have a doggy chef and masseus/bather(sp?),they would have just about every dog toy and doggy paraphanalia available.I would also set up a special compound for strays who would also be afforded the same luxuries as my dogs.Ofcourse if i could afford all of this i would definitely make sure i would donate to shelters etc.

As for the woman trying the dog food..well this would definitely give me reassurance to buy her food. I feed Evangers, and i admit it does smell good enough to eat[:D]

Haha! I *am* a doggy chef and massage therapist, groomer, nurse, and MOMMY[:D]

Yes, Emma has her own bottle of massage oil. It keeps her off of NSAIDS. So shoot me[;)]

I caught the show! OMG...what was up with that doggy washer/dryer. That poor border collie...and how does a dog get clean with out the shampoo being massaged into his coat and skin?

I have a recipe for home made dog treats that I make, and they're fine for people to eat, if ( like you said) they like the beef and chicken flavors[8D] They're kinda like regular biscuits, but the dogs liked them better than the crunchy plain ones that come in a box, because they were soft, smelled goo, were meat flavored, and were healthier for them too. Makes me kinda think though....since dogs are never supposed to get table scraps, do you think it's better to make dog biscuits with flour, eggs, etc, which is people food, or to buy the processed kind that usually have preservatives and stuff in them?? Oh well....

I saw that washer and dryer thing too.  I felt bad for that dog, he looked like he just wanted to get out of there.

My dogs get 'table scraps' every night.Table scraps dont automatically mean the bad stuff, which is whats meant when they say never to feed table scraps. If you eat healthily than your table scraps would also be healthy and therefore good for your dog.
Bad stuff IMO would be all the fat and gristle, onions, drippings, sugary and salty left overs etc. Good table scraps would be left over fruit and veg, uneaten meat,a bit of pasta and rice etc etc.

As for the treats i think home made will always beat shop bought. The treats i buy my dogs are all made with 'people food' [;)]

That was the first thing that came to my mind... how miserable he looked.  I would not buy that thing... I enjoy giving Romeo his bath, I usually take advantage and give him a good massage, he usually ends up belly up almost falling asleep..[8D]

I can't help thinking that the dogs would still rather be in the *people house* even if the *dog house* is a $14,000 showplace with $1,000 couches.  If I got something like that for Max, I'm sure it wouldn't take him 5 minutes to come back through the doggy door into this house.[:D]

Oh for sure! I thought they built the dog house inside their own home, not in the yard[sm=blush.gif]

I could build a mansion in my back yard for the dogs but they would still rather be where ever i am,and thats inside with me! I will never understand why people get dogs and then make them live outside,i just cant fathom it....

    I agree. [:)]

My pup goes pretty much EVERYWHERE I go...since he was 8 weeks old! He is inside with me when I am inside, he is outside with me when I am outside. He sleeps in my bed with me at night...I know he is completely spoiled, but that's how I like it! [:D] He comes to work with me everyday...goes with me to Reno, Nevada about 2-3 times a week. He comes with me when I ride my horse...etc...

And of course, there are times when I need to do things without him and he is a perfect gentleman...gets freereign of the house and that is when he spends quality time with the cat! [;)]

Everyone will do what they want with their dogs, but to me this is the "perfect" life for a dog. I am especially lucky to be able to have him with me this much. A lot of lifestyles just can't permit it, even if they want to, due to work schedules and such.

They don't call dogs "Mans Best Friend" for nothing. I am sure just about every dog would rather be with their human companion than anything else. They don't see things in monetary value. On the other hand...if you have $15,000 to spend on a dog house..fine with me! I am just sure the dog would rather you slept in the dog house with him. [sm=talker.gif]

They have one of those dog wash things at the store I shop at.  I've seen some dogs in there and they all had the same look as the one on TV.

I was getting nervous though, what if for some reason the water was too hot or too cold even.  I know some dogs would let you know but some might not and just tolerate it and get burned.

The guy with one small white dog built the dog house inside his own house.  The couple with 6 dogs built a mansion separate from their house - that's the one that cost 14K. I don't see Max amusing himself all day listening to piped in music or watching TV. [:D]

Furnish it!!!  My buddy eat it all in a day anyway!  And my husband thinks I spoil him by getting a crate pad (which he ate after one week of loving it, its this habit that causes my husband to say I spoil him)  I came home one night after about an hour and a half and he was sat there in the midst of the side bolster stuffing like it was a white christmas

I guess when people refer to "table scrapes" they automatically think junk. maybe rephrasing the word!  i don't know, just a suggestion!
