I don't know about the removal of nutrients, but I've used NV's freeze-dried medallions on road trips.
They're very easy, but you do have to make sure you leave time to let them soak up the water. I found myself pounding them into bits and giving Roscoe soup 'cause we didn't have time to let them soak (had to get back on the road). They're
very expensive compared to doing it yourself or buying regular pre-made raw, though.
