So what are people switching to?

I was feeding Chicken Soup to Max and had everyone else on Natural Balance.  I finally found a food that wasn't bothering Benny.  He wasn't itching, licking, or losing his fur and then this stupid recall came along and I'm back to the beginning.

I switched to Acana, which is quite pricey, but it's an all stages food which is what I need, and Benny seems OK on it so far.  He is itchy, but I'm hoping a skin supplement of some kind will help.

Iams Simple and Natural (Dry) mixed in with Vienna Sausages :)

Fromm grain-free.  My Mom's dog's health has really improved on their canned variety so I bought a bag of dry to mix in with the last of Layla's TOTW.  Layla is eating it up like she has never eaten a dog food!   It's made in Wis. and their web site says they have their own plant, so no outsourced manufacturing issue at least.

Layla did great on TOTW, but these recalls have me a bit spooked.  Better to go with something else for a while, she probably needed to taste something different anyway.

I switched Piper and Darwin to Blue Basics turkey/potato. They were eating Solid Gold Wee Bits, but they had chronic loose stool and upset tummies the whole time eating it. They are doing much better on the Blue. I'm not going to feed Solid Gold anymore, or anything else made by Diamond!

Jetta was on TOTW and has been switched to Wellness Simple. WellPet claims that it is no longer purchasing any products from Diamond. The large breed puppy food was the only Wellness product from the South Carolina plant.

These recalls are so frustrating for an owner of allergy dogs! Jetta did so well on TOTW....

We've almost always fed Blue, and have no intentions of switching! I tried TOTW for a while, a while back, and my aussie lost a TON of weight on the food. BB works for all 3, and the cats!

We feed TOTW Pacific Stream, have for a couple years now.  We don't plan to switch.

Completely forgot I had started this thread :( We ended up picking up a bag of Avoderm for now. Not sure if that will be the final choice, but w needed something and that was one we could both agree on at the time and we really had to get home. Still thinking about the Cal. Natural but DH doesn't like having to go to the only store that sells it, it's very inconviently located. We used Blue for awhile, but it just didn't work very well for our dogs. Thanks for all the info to think about.

We were on TOTW.  We've switched to Fromm Grain Free Surf and Turf.  I also use Evanger's grain free as a topper now and then.

The dogs seem pleased with the switch, so we'll see how their coats and skin look in a couple weeks.

We are trying Earthborn and Nutri Source.

When I went to the co op yesterday they had signs up dated 05//8/12 discussing the Diamond Recall and how their stock comes from MO and that is not involved in the recalls.  On my way out, I mentioned that there was an update to the recall on 18th and that it mentioned MO was now involved.  The clerk told me, they don't change their signs unless the delivery truck driver tells them too when their order comes in.  So, if they have bad food on the shelves, it is still available until the next truck comes in and tells them otherwise!  Hmmmm.
