    Maxine's Biopsy Results

     Osteosarcoma.

We have an appointment next Tuesday with a local animal cancer clinic to discuss options. I honestly feel there is not much we will be able to do but discussing options does not hurt. Knowing now that bone is involved, and the location in her mouth, I feel any surgery would be WAY too radical. Not good quality of life for her, and that is my #1 priority. I owe her EVERYTHING.

Man does this hurt!!!! Why her?!

Oh Ann & Max, I'm so sorry to read this.  Sad  I don't know why it's her, but I do know you will do what is best for Maxine.  She's very lucky to have you.  My thoughts are with you.  ((((((Hugs)))))

Well that just sucks.  Please take care of yourself while making this journey with Max ~ and give her an extra long hug from me.

I am so sorry. I know you will do only what's in Maxine's best interest...because you love her so very much ((hugs))

That just sucks! Poor Maxine. Poor you. I know you are devastated and I wish I had something inspirational to say to you. I hope a virtual (((((HUG))) will help.

My dog was diagnosed in March. I've been a mess but Kobi has taken it all in stride. It's hard to know exactly what to do or what not to do. I know you will do what is the best for Maxine. Prayers for your friend.

Dang I'm sorry -- and I think you're right.  When it's involved in the mouth like that surgery just isn't great.

However -- IF this is responsive to chemo please don't just dismiss it out of hand.  When Muffin the Intrepid had chemo that's when I discovered how AWESOME the TCVM was to augment the chemo and **pretty well completely** disarm side effects.

He was NOT nauseus.  He did NOT lose his coat.  He did NOT suffer from chemo at all.  There was a chinese herb he took 4-5 days before chemo and then 4-5 days after -- no diarreha, no nausea.  The Maitake mushroom literally helps protect the cells -- all you have to do is tell a regular oncologist that it is a "polysaccharide" and they GET IT.

A cancer diet -- it may take a bit of adapting but man, it helps slow the cancer down SO much.  Muffin's quality of life stayed SO high I was amazed.

Holler, Ann, if I can help.

Ann I am just so very sorry - sending you and Maxine our best

I talked to you on the phone but wanted to share some support here too. I know it sucks to look at the future, but she is happy and doesn't show any discomfort now. That is important to remember and not over look.

Feeling a little better today (me that is). Being at work hearing the news, all I wanted to do is go home and be with Max. I got home and she was all happy and bouncy to see me. I needed that!!!! She is so very special. Thank you all for your thoughts. I know I will have TONS of questions, right now I don't know what they are.

We head up north today for some needed r&r, our dogs will have a busy full few days. Then when we get back we will see what is up.

I know you all know but I must say....THIS JUST SUCKS!
