    Off topic--Jersey is adorable!!

To the OP of this thread, it seems your friend Lisa may just run away with the show.  I realize it's early in the season, but she surely stood out.

Agreed!  Of course, anything can happen, but just based on this first ep, she is not only extremely talented, but seems like such a nice person to boot.

I'm glad they re-aired the finale from last season before the first ep of this new season.  Of course, I had to watch it again, so I could get all choked up all over again seeing Artist win, lol.

I'm looking forward to the pig episode they showed in the promos.  That should be quite entertaining. Stick out tongue

Wow, I just finished watching and I'm pretty sure they just kept Krista around because she's annoying. And it's obvious that they picked her as the one with the singing dog on purpose. I was sad to see Chicken Joe leave; he was entertaining and seemed like a nice person.

Yup, my thoughts exactly!  I'm sad to see Chicken Joe leave as well.  He was pleasant and "fresh" if you know what I mean.  At the same time, his Pom looked very unfinished and sloppy to me.  In fact, none of them looked very good to me.  I recognize that they were all working with less-than-"perfect" pets, but I still feel the results were not what they should've been.  JMO.

She IS annoying.  I can barely stand to watch when she's on screen LOL.

I don't know, I'm not seeing a clear winner anymore. My pick right now would be Huber. And I have to say that I was glad to see Krista leave!

First, the thing I appreciated most about this episode was that the dogs were referred to as Poodle mixes-- not some sort of "Doodle."  No offense to anyone who may own, know, or otherwise love these dogs... I think they can be great dogs.  I just disagree with the type of marketing that usually surrounds them.

Beyond that, I'm not at all convinced that any groomer should be judged by their ability (or lack therof) to use that contraption.  It's such a non-precision groom.... really, what were they expecting?  Maybe it's my general lack of knowledge concerning that particular type of coat, but that's how it seems to me anyway.

I just had to laugh when Krista went from "I'm comfortable with this tool, have more experience than anyone else here with it, blah, blah, blah" to "None of the tasks so far played to my strengths, I'm the best breeder here even though I was in the bottom 2 three seperate times."  It'll be interesting to see how the dynamic changes with her gone... there always has to be someone who stirs the pot, who will it be now?

Yay for Artist's return next week!  Should be a good episode!

It's grooming technology, and it DOESN'T have to be non-precise. I was trained backwards, LOL. I was taught to use a clipper vac first, so I was pretty good with one, before I learned to groom the "old fashioned" way. You can do just about anything with one, and for some reason, none of those groomers had even tried it more than once or twice.  I found that a little bit strange, for someone who is competing at a national (televised!) level.

I'm just so glad to see Krista gone.

Oh I'm so sad! I watched Season 1, but we had to downgrade our DirecTV package because of finanical reasons, so now we don't get that channel anymore. Crying  I'll have to check if the full episodes are available online.

I had a feeling someone would have experience with it and I'd wind up being wrong... guess that's why I hedged my bet at the end there, LOL.  I allowed my first impression of it to be bolstered by the fact that these "accomplished" breeders had little to no use for it.  It would definitely be interesting to what someone who is skilled with a clipper vac could really do with it!

I agree with Jennie, I thought it was lame how few of them had used one before.  They've been around for a long time now, and I felt I was FINALLY catching up with the times when I got mine just a month ago.  I'm still not sure if I like it, you really have to play with it.  Trial and error.  But it really does make for a quicker haircut (less hand finishing), healthier environment, cooler blades, and hardly any hair splinters.Smile

Why didn't I think of that?

Anyway, I thought Krista's comments about Lisa were rude and unseemly - just made her look more like the jerk she seems to be.  Glad she's gone.  The more I watch, the more I like Lisa, and I think she may just be one of the final two, provided she doesn't slip up.

I can hardly wait to watch!  I caught the tail end of the last season and loved it.  Most are wonderful *content removed, advertising*

Aye yie yie, only THREE peeps left!  This is getting really nerve-wracking!  Can't wait to watch the Bichons, though.  My favorite trim of all time.Smile

Do you think there is any way that Lisa *won't* win it?  She's obviously the most talented of the bunch.  I do like Huber, though, and I was really sad to see Bill go home.  Sad  I liked Bill a lot.
