    New flea & tick control?

Please help… I came across a web sight that claims to have a safe non-toxic alternative to spot drops… works for people, house, and pets… Has anyone hear of Cedarcide? Here's the web page http://www.cedarcidestore.com/catalog/item/3571008/3185629.htm

We live on the MA/CT border and have a horrible tick infestation… If the ticks aren’t bad enough the puppers just started bring in what looks like bark louse nymphs (from whatsthatbug.com), back half like a tick front half like an ant! Oh boy do they bite…
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Linda

Cedar can cause some really severe respiratory problems in dogs -- and honestly it wouldn't be something *I* would use (and I use tons of herbals and "natural" products).  Additionally, "pine" generally can trigger seizures in dogs -- way way too high risk for my liking.

And just a general comment on their website -- any time a website claims to cure or elminate "mange" without qualifying the fact that there are many different types of mange mites (demodex, sarcops, ear mites, Cheyletiellia, and many others) and SO many differences (like demodex mites eat skin oil and sarcoptic and ear mites actually feed on blood and 'bite' the dog) -- but oh yah this is a cure all?

Probably not.  And dangerous in my view.

Thanks calliecritturs! I had a feeling that it sounded too good… I got suspicious when I couldn’t find anything but their press on the product. I didn’t know there were so many different types of mites that could infest a dog! Thanks for the heads up on reactions to cedar/pine. I have to keep chemicals to a minimum in our house because I have severe allergies…

    Thanks again,

    Linda
