Last year, at 3 years of age, my toy poodle developed a honking/snorting noise when he got excited. Usually, this condition is blamed on a collapsing trachea. When he had his teeth cleaned, the vet took a good look in his throat while he was under and said that he had a very long soft palate and that this condition - like that of bull dogs - was causing the snorting/honking when he is excited. Heat and humidity exacerbate the situation. It seemed to come on rather suddenly and I wondered if something environmental was making it so obvious.
Anyone else had this experience with poodles?
