    Nail Question

Maze has really long nails and so her quicks are quite long.  Since I've started sanding her nails, will her quicks go down as the length of the nail goes down? I accidently made one of her nails bleed last night since I can't see where the quick is.. I hate black nails.Lol

Yes they will. Well according to a site I found when looking up how to dremel dogs nail. It said that the shorter you dremel them the quick will shorten.

Oh good. I hate making her bleed..

I hate black nails too.  :)  But using a dremel has made it so much easier, for me -- I was never comfortable using nail clippers.  Gypsy's nails were getting quite long at one point (I think her joint supps make them grown faster), so I finally bought a dremel and started doing them every 3-4 days, just a little each session.  It took a little while, but they are finally back to a decent length.  Short, even.  So yes, I would say the quicks will recede.  :)  I have made her bleed a few times, but she doesn't mind it as much with the dremel.

Did you get the dremel with the little light on it?

Sanding and walking on concrete and constant upkeep is what they say it takes to move the quick back.

Nope. No little light on mine. *sigh*  And there's no concrete around here so I'll just have to keep them short. Which is fine. Sanding is a lot faster then trying to clip the nails on a dog who's trying to eat the clippers.

Here's the site I used when I started dremeling my dogs nails.
