Need help with a poop problem.(kle1986)

Well I think it's a problem.

Joker poops 10 times a day. I am not kidding. He poops 2 times in the morning after breakfast. He poops 3-4 times on walks. He poops 2 times before bed. The poops are solid not too hard looking but huge piles of poop.

I want to take him the town festival tomorrow BUT I really dont want to spend the day picking up poop.

WHY is he pooping sooooooo much?

I have him on Wellness puppy food. He gets 2 cups a day. He gets a frozen neck bone or frozen chicken leg once a day. I gave him his first egg today also. But he has been pooping like this before I gave him the egg. And like I said it's solid but not too hard looking poop.

Any advice?!! I know this probably isnt gonna be fixed by tomorrow. Should I still take him? I really need to get him used to crowds and stuff so he will be good to show.

Ena does it, too. I think it's a puppy thing? Ems will poop extra on walks. She's just marking, though. She's the marking queen. Ena poops because she genuinely has to poop.

So should I take him to the festival or not? I really dont want to be picking up poop all day!! But he needs the socialization and get used to the crowds.

It hasn't stopped me from taking the brat out, yet. I just carry plenty of poop bags Wink

I guess I will take him then. Lol. He really needs to go get used to crowds. Im hoping it's gonna be nice out like it has been the last couple days and I can put him in the crate in the car if he or I need a break!!

I had the same experience with mine when they were pups, so I'm not a fan of Wellness for that reason. If he wasn't on it before, Joker may still be adjusting to Wellness and once he is acclimated and a little older, the poops should diminish. However, IMO Wellness results in more poop than almost any other premium food. Our dogs are now eating Eagle Pack.

Ena's been through several foods and always pooped lots. It may just be her. She poops before breakfast, after breakfast, around lunch time, before dinner, after dinner, and before bed. Basically, she eats and poops all day LOL.

Maybe it could be the food. I know he is always hungry. He has been wormed so I know that's not the problem.

I will go through this bag of Wellness and if continues I will try something new.

Is there any dog food out there that I could feed Cheyanne, Lillie, and Joker? I seriously have 4 different dog food bags in my house. I wish I could just limit it to 1or 2!!!

I know different dogs have different food needs. But there has got to be something out there for me dont there?!!!

I feed Tootsie and BFs, Dingo, both Eagle Pack Holistic Fish and they both do very well.

I'm having good results with Eagle Pack Holistic Lamb. To add more protein I mix in Taste of the Wild. 1.5 cups EP; 1/4 cup TOTW.

I have noticed that Bruder has soft poops though with adding the TOTW, so I'm going to feed him EP only. The first few days here on EP only his poops were good.

I wondered if the excessive pooping for Joker was too much food. Maybe not though...growing active boy.

Hehe I was feeding Lillie Eagle Pack and TOTW a couple weeks ago. She really liked it so Im gonna switch her back. So I guess I will try Joker on it also.

Maybe the food he is on is not right for him? Mosby stopped pooping as much once I got him on a grain-free food. It took a couple of weeks for a noticeable difference but it's sooo much better on the Taste of the Wild.

wow! never had a small pup here go over 6!! Impressive LOL. Hope you get it figured out! Makes you wonder if any good stuff is staying IN him LOL.

I switched him to TOTW. Seems to have done the trick. He poops 4 times a day. Once before breakfast,once after,once after supper,and once again before bed time.

I also have added a spoonful of cottage cheese and canned salmon to his breakfast. He gets an egg with his supper.He also gets a frozen neck bone in the middle of the day.

Lillie gets the same but she gets a lunch too since she is so hard to keep weight on.

I don't know that it's a puppy thing. Aesop has always just gone twice a day, unless of course he got into something that gave him the poops.

Now Ginger, she poops more than any dog I've seen. Ridiculous, I say! She's limited as to what foods she can have, too, so switching to see if something causes less poop isn't really feasible. She can only have canned, can't have chicken, and has a sensitive stomach. Her poops are normal, just frequent, so we just put up with it
