CoCo Chanel
I did was warned the groomer that "CoCo gets fidgetdy when her feet are touched.... and what did the groomer do? Right away put a muzzle on her, even though I insisted that it wasnt needed."
Thats what I mean, People read WAY to much into little comments such as that one. They take "Becareful shes gets fidigity" and turn in to somthing like this..."I'm warning you! My dog attacks when people touch her feet" Rather what she should have done was take it slow. Give Coco a couple of breaks as not to stress her out to much.
People that THINK they under stand pets, but then really don't. I think I have a new pet peev (no pun intended)
Don't overreact too much on this. I don't do any grooming, but I do technician work at the clinic I work at, and sometimes you have to try to read into the situation. Sometime you'll ask people how their dog is with nails, shots, etc., and they say, "Oh, she's fine, no problem!" and then you're trying to do her nails or get a fecal and the dog is growling and snapping at your face. Sometimes you HAVE to read into it in order to be safest. You just never know...and some dogs don't even bother growling or giving a warning anymore because its been "punished" out of them and they go right to snapping and biting. Just a few weeks ago, my friend had to take her dog in to get checked out (different clinic), and she TOLD them that he would need a muzzle because he hates his feet being messed with, and they totally ignored her and told her it would be fine, no big deal. One of the technicians ended up getting her lip ripped off. :( I'm not saying you guys are wrong and that your dogs need muzzles, just saying that its sometimes hard to tell when people don't always tell you the truth, or just tell you vaguely what's going on. It's not worth the risk in my opinion. And what's the big deal with having a muzzle on for 5-10 minutes? Yeah, I'm sure its probably stressful, but its better that the dog actually biting someone and having that big ordeal.
