Is this after he eats? is it after he's been outside (maybe he's getting into something?)
I would think an ultrasound or something similar -- it's difficult to 'see' in there because of the Jacobsen's Organ ... but given that you can set your clock by this it would seem to me that either the dog is scenting something that is triggering the bleeding or if it is only eating one meal before this or *something* has to be triggering that time to be sensitive.
I'd also think that they should be able to scope that but they might have to sedate the dog.
