Which bone in the leg was it? What kind of fracture? I'm assuming you mean an actual break and not a stress fracture or something slightly milder.
CRATE REST is absolutely, positively number one. Can't stress that enough - people not confining a fracture patient is the number one cause of failure to heal, slow healing, or incorrect healing. No running, playing, walking unless it is a few minutes to go to the bathroom. After a week or two, VERY short leash walks (5-10 min) can be incorporated a few times a day, and gradually lengthened for the next 3-4 weeks, but no real jumping/playtime activity for the next couple months.
Antioxidant supplements can also help. Is he on pain meds? Certain ones can be hard on the liver, so you might want to look into some milk thistle.
