Okay, I havbe not seen any postgings about this new flea product. BUT my computer crashed and I was without one for 3 weeks and I have gotten behind on posts, and don't have to time to try to catch up. If this is posted elsewhere,
I am sorry.I had seen the ads for this ProMeris flea control on TV and wondered about it, but was not about to use any new p;roduct just yet even tho Frontline Plus does not seem to working as well. Then on all of my golden retriever forums were postings about dogs having reactions to this new product. NOW I DON'T KNOW IF THEY ARE TURE OR NOT, but thought it worth telling so everyone can check it out for themselves.
One of the stories, the person had 6 huskies and an airedale/golden retriever mix and all 7 dogs had a reaction. According to the post, her vet then removed all he had and will not use it. Another was a lady put it on her two Great Pyr's and one had no problme, but the other died.. The other was a dog, no breed given, but named Rowdy who went beserk after the application. One of the owners also became sick after using it, but I can't remember which one. the owner of the pyr's feel dogs are being used as test subjects without their owners knowing it. I am not quite sure as this part is fuzzy, but it seems her dog's body was shipped to FOR DODGE who manufactures the product.
Between the boards there are a number of vet techs and most said their vet is not using it bcause they feel it is to new and they don't know enough about it. One did say her vet is using it and the only reactions they have seen involved dogs that licked the area of application.
Many of us who lost or almost lost our dogs to ProHeart6 a few years back (I lost my just turned 4 year old golden retriever, Hunter to it) have believed that our dogs were test subjects also, without us knowing it. It was also made by Fort Dodge. as I stated at the first, I don't know if these stories or true or not, but I do feel it is worth investigating if you are thinking about using this product, I am NOT going to use it.
