Swelling?

Hello,

I'm new here. I was searching the net with no success, so here goes:

We adopted our girl Salem almost a month ago. The vet estimated her to be about 4.5 months old; we took her to be spayed right away. She had some post-spay problems that involved her having reactions to the sutures and the vet replacing them with staples. She had a slight infection and was on amoxicillen for a few days. She had the staples removed last Wednesday and has been all healed up and healthy looking...until last night.

I noticed that it looks a little red and slightly swollen underneath her scar. I'm going to call the vet first thing tomorrow morning, but wanted to see if anyone knew what this could be before then. Thanks for your help...

It's hard to know exactly what it is without an image. What may look like a big swollen red area may be nothing to someone else. And even at that, the vet will go a step farther and probly feel the area to get an even better idea. I don't want to give the wrong idea of what it could be because I can be compleetly off and would only make you worrie even more, it may not be anything at all. The vet might ask you if you notice the dog licking the area or scratching at it.

I would just wait and see what your vet says and go from there.

I forgot to add, we think she is a mix, but she looks like mostly an all-black german shepherd.
