hey folks!
i just wanted to post my "results" from my 5 month old shih-tzu's, Eudora, spay this past monday and get some feedback from you all on her activity post-spay being the concerned puppy parents we are.
She's been pretty mopey since she came home tuesday morning, hiding under our bed, couch and chair, whining every once in a while, but sleeping most of the time. She's not eating alot, but she is eating - and drinking well, and is ok in her washroom breaks.
she seems to scoot around quickly when she wants to move, almost "hopping" at times every now and again, however, doesn't seem to be irritated with the stitches, but more irritated with the area around the inside of her legs where it looks like the vet shaved her a little. i think it's rubbing funny, and she doesn't like it. we keep a close eye on her to make sure she's not licking her stitches, but when she does lick, it is in the area i described just above, and not where her stitches are (they seem to be just out of licking reach for her). we do have a cone for her, we put on her at night when she sleeps in the kitchen where her house (crate) is.
we took her for a little walk last night, she was quite wound-up and wanted to pull and run more than walk at a nice, calm pace. however, slept really well last night when she came home.
I just wanted to make sure she's doing well, and the "symptoms" i've described are somewhat normal. we're looking forward to her being back to her spunky little self.
here she is... in her favourite position as of late
thanks for the insight all!
p.s. wonderful fourms here! *very* informative!
