Allergy Suppliments?

    Allergy Suppliments?

I've been looking through the allergy related posts for suppliment ideas. Gracie has contact allergies to some sort of plant outside, it could even possibly be grass. I have her on 3v caps liquid (Fish, Safflower & Borage Seed Oil) which has reduced her reactions by half, but I was still wondering if anyone had any other homeopathic type suppliments I can give her to help ease the reactions.

It's not homeopathic, but antihistamines can help; you should probably try Benedryl first. If you're sure it's contact allergies than bathing should help; Nova Pearls and NuSal-T are very good but any shampoo for soothing a dog's skin should work. If you think it's grass, try keeping her off the grass right after it's mowed; some here say that helps. If you live in the South, wandering jew is a common contact allergen for dogs; try removing any you have in your yard. Also, you can watch your dog  when she's outside and perhaps by seeing where she goes in your yard you will find the allergen causing the problem. I know it's not the information you're looking for but at least try the bathing because it will help for contact allergies. Callie is very good at recommending homeopathic remedies and she frequently refers people to the Chi Institute:

They have a locator so you can find a holistic practitioner in your area. I hope someone with the information you want comes along soon.

I have great success with VitaCaps. They worked better than dermcaps or 3V caps for my dogs.
I also use Benadryl or Atarax if things get super bad, but always feed the VitaCaps (with my vets blessing, she now uses them too)
