    Neighbors dog with bleeding skin.

About 4 days ago my neighbor came to me to ask me a question about her dog's nose. I looked at it and right away I thought paricite or fungas. It had small bumpy lumps above the nose that looked like pimples ready to burst, som had already stared to bleed. I told her the dog needs to see a vet so you can know what's going on with her and get it treated. She told me she didn't have that kind of money to spend on the dog and wanted to know what I recomended. Knowing I could not convince her to take the dog to the vet I said to "put triple antiobiotic ointment on the wond about twice a day" I know it would not stop the spreading but at least it would prevent infection and thats the best she could do without seeing a vet. I told her agean if it gets any worse the dog needs to see a vet.

So the next day I look over my fence and see the dog is even in worse shape from the day before, more bumps and more bleeding. The following day even worse but with skin almost pealing off. I asked her if she was going to take the dog in, I said "She needs to get a skin scrap so you can know exactly what is going on with it and the vet can give you some meds to heal it." She still said she didn't want to spend any money on the dog. It looks like a fungus to me but I didn't tell her that.

Now today the dog is in even worse shape. Some of the wound have scabed over but it's spreading even more. I only see it on the face but worrie that whatever it is can spread into my yard and infect my dog. I don't know what else to say to her or do.

Do you have an active Animal Control in your area? If I were you I would call them because she is neglecting her dog by refusing vet care and she is endangering your dog

belive me I have thought about calling animal control on her but not shure if I should take it that far.

She uses this dog for breeding only, she had puppies about 5 months ago and wants to breed agean. I thought about calling on that because I know she does not have a breeding liences that they require in my town for breeders. I know the landlords of the house and thought I might also give them a call because they also have a lot of say in her keeping the dog. I like her as a person but don't like the way she handels her dogs.

I think no matter what, it is animal abuse. I think you do need to call.               And what kind of person would want puppies from this dog if it has something wrong anyway. Maybe you can get to her that way.

you definately need to call Animal Control. She doesnt have to know it was you but you definately have to get this girl out of there. I mean what if during one of those welps she gets a pup stuck? Will they just let her die?

I agree with Dyan and LizzieCollie;  Call animal control tomorrow; Jessie had something similar to this a few years ago and it started with her nose and then her head swelled; in her case it was a severe allergic reaction but it can also be caused by pemphigus or discoid lupus. The dog needs care ASAP.

Well I gaver her landloard a call and he also agrees with me about thoes dogs. The landlord already told her she needs to get that dog spayed or she's out. The landlorad is going to stop by and says if that dog has any more puppies then she has to move and also she needs to get it treated or he'll kick her out for that also and report her. If she dosn't take that dog in to the vet on Monday then I will call.

I agree, and that woman shouldn't have a dog.

Is there any news about your neighbor's dog?

Gosh, I am so glad you called her landlord! I understand maybe not wanting conflict with her but it sounds like she won't be there long anyway, so I say call Animal control. If the landlord has already warned her, she won't know who called. People like her shouldn't be allowed the privlege of having a dog or any living creature under her care.[:@]
