Urinary Tract Infection - UTI

I'm having some issues with my 5 month old Silky Terrier Banditt. For the most part potty training is coming along pretty well, although a while back I caught him hiking his leg in the house. On the kitchen curtain, kitchen trash can, chairs, sofa. At first I figured he was marking his territory, we have 5 cats and one other dog he's getting used to but upon further inspection I noticed his urine was concentrated looking and had a funny odor. So I took him to the vet, they ran a urinalysis and found some blood in his urine and prescribed an antibiotic and told me he had a UTI. Banditt was a very good eater, but after about 4 days on the antibiotic he stopped eating and would occasionally vomit. I took him back to the vet, they ran another urinalysis and this time found crystals and gave me a different antibiotic. This one is not agreeing with him any better than the first one and now his eating is very sporadic. I hate forcing these things down when he doesn't have any food in his stomach and won't eat.
I'm getting frustrated! All of my animals have the very best of care and I don't understand why such a young dog would be having this problem to begin with? I thought maybe someone here has had a similar problem and wanted to see if anyone has any comments, tips or suggestions. Oh, and he's still hiking his leg!
Thank you in advance.

He's really young - did the vet talk to you about what type of food you're feeding him? There could be an imbalance that is leading to the UTI. He seems too young for bladder stones, but I'm no vet.
