    HELP PLEASE!!!!

I created this account specifically for one question and I would appreciate it very much if somebody helped me out. My dog is about a year old and his sister just passed away the other day. She was born with only 3 legs and died because of excessive bleeding from her private area. Well, my dog is taking it pretty harsh. He won't eat or play and he justs sits in the corner with his head down. I'm also pretty sure that he has lost weight. My dog is very special to me and I'm afaid that there might be something wrong with him too. Can anybody please tell me what's wrong with my dog. Thank you.

If you think something might/could be wrong with your boy, you should take him to the vet.  However, it is very possible that this boy is missing his companion and is grieving.  You can do a search (see the list under the big Dog.com) and search grief in dogs.  My recommendation would be to spend some extra fun time of cuddles, treats and walks, runs or games with your pup.  My guess is that you might be grieving too, this will help the both of you.  I am sorry about your loss.  I hope you stick around.  Even if you came just to get one answer, this is an amazing group of people around here!

Welcome to idog; I'm sorry for the loss of your other dog. Eskiemom is right; it is very likely that your dog is grieving;  it is common for dogs to grieve when they lose a companion. The grieving period usually doesn't last more than a few weeks before they return to normal. The extra fun time Eskiemom suggests is a good idea but your pup should be back to his old self before too long. We would love to see pics of the dog you lost and the one you're worried about if you would like to share some.

Hi -- jbaez get your other dog to a vet.  You already know the first dog died of mysterious and pretty much unknown cause.  A dog doesn't just have unknown bleeding either from kidneys or genitalia.  And since they are littermates, this dog could ALSO have some either genetic or environmental cause going on.  Like they both could have ingested poison or something.  Get the remaining dog to the vet -- grief is real, but don't ignore the physical.
