My almost 2 year old cocker spaniel has not been acting himself lately. He has been sleeping a lot and not really playing with my sister's dog. He doesn't want to play with his bones. He just wants to lie around and sleep. He is eating fine though. My vet did a complete blood work up yesterday and called me with the results today. His Creatin is a little lower than usual. His Bilirubin is a little up and his sodium and potassium are a little up. They are just a little off not a whole lot. She thinks maybe the lab wasn't that accurate and wants to redo another blood test on Monday.
I was thinking, could the Bilirubin be up from 3 weeks of antihistamines? He is no longer taking them since last night because his environmental allergy test results were low. So I'm hoping it's the antihistamine that is making him feel sluggish. I homecook for Jake, but the vet doesn't think the homecooking is effecting his electrolytes. It is about 90 degrees here, but he is in an air conditioned house and we are not going for any walks while it is this hot.
Anyone have any ideas what may be going on? Also, he is just about over his ear infection from March. We have tried many different anitbiotics and anit-fungal ear medications and have finally stopped the ear meds as of today.
Thanks,
Michelle
