I'm so very, very glad Cole is doing well and loves his new puppy girlfriend!

I know what you are going through right now as my cat Razen is getting chemo and we don't know how long we will have with her. I break down and cry at any given time. I count each and every day as a blessing. Every moment is a time to treasure. Every cuddle and lick is a gift. I am thankful for the time she has been with me, making it a much better, lovlier life.

My heart is happy for you and Cole, glad he is doing so well. My thoughts, wishes and prayers are with you both.

But Cole is so shiny and healthy looking in that respect! And so darn cute!
    The puppy is adorable..
Thanks for sharing the pictures AND the good news that Cole is still doing well!

It's approaching three weeks since the bad news about Cole. He is still doing well and playing with the other dogs. However today I felt his spine nad ribs more than usual but he is still eating like a pig so it is ok. We are having a hard time trying to get Sadie house broken. She will go outside and pee and turn around and pee inside. Someone told me females do this alot and it gets better when they get fixed, which she will next month. But all in all we are doign great and I am thankful for each day I have with Cole. Hope everyone is having a great week.

If he is eating a lot and losing wieght that can be a sign something is wrong with him absorbing the food.  Do you have him on digestive enzymes to help with that?  Those can be useful.

Im so glad to hear the good effect the puppy has had for him, and I hope you are able to spend much more time with your boy!

Good idea about the digestive enzymes.
I'm not sure if the puppy is doing a typical female thing or not,,but I sure hear that a lot of times,,,,,  seems like they almost cross their legs to NOT go outside so that they can keep it for coming back in...lol!   Some pups are just harder to train then others.  Our Dane Ollie was horrible to train, and don't know if it is a Dane thing or not, but seems like it because a Dane breeder that my other son worked with (who is Bubbys breeders husband) told him that all their Danes were like that, just takes longer.  But she WILL be housebroken,,,don't worry...

I haven't heard of the enzymes but the vet said that one of the side effects of prednizone is that the muscle mass deteriorates which is why he is looking thin on his face and back. I will ask the vet about the enzymes. Thanks.

Any update on Cole? How is he doing? I hope he is still doing well!
    • Gold Top Dog
    Hey everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted I have been really busy. But no news is good news. Cole is doing well. He is still active and loving. He is still getting thin from the prednisone but otherwise he is doing great. Tomorrow reaches the 4 week mark. Lets hope he makes another 4 weeks.[:)
The puppy is really testing us. I told my husband that God is testing to see if we really want to get pregnant is the next few months. We have been up all hours of the night with her whether it is cleaning up her mess or taking her out. She has had the poops REALLY bad the last couple of days. We just came back from the vet and got some meds. But she is just like a 2 year old child. [:D] Well I hope everyone has been doing well. I watch some kids M-F during the day and then work T-Sun nights so please forgive me if I don't post often. I appreciate everyone's love and concern about Cole. It really makes a difference for me. Have a great day!

As a newcomer to this board I just read this thread from start to finish and I had to pause a couple of times to get the Kleenex. I am so happy that Cole has made it to four weeks. Blessings to him and the rest of your family, furry and otherwise. I hope he continues to do well and that you will have him much much longer than was originally projected. Bless his heart!
