I posted this message at the wrong place I believe, so here it is.
I think Romeo is constipated, I don't know, he has been with me for 2 yrs and this would be a first, usually is the runs.
Yesterday he ate 3 oz of buffalo loin and in the morning and in the evening 3 oz of green tripe (he is 30 lbs) and for an afternoon snack he had an orange. I noticed that when we went last night, his stools were cow pie like, so I thought here we go again, but he acted fine the rest of the night, he did not have to go again or anything.
Today is his "light" day, so this morning he had chicken soup, just the broth nothing else, but when we went, it sounded like someone had lit up some fireckrackers and then it was watery and then very runny stools, he took a couple of steps tried again and nothing, a couple of more steps nothing, (he was really straining) that was around 8 this morning, so I gave him some plain fat free yogurt, around 2:30 (which is regular walk time) he went again and did the same thing, firecrackers, runny poop, tried for more a couple of times and nothing. He had more soup this evening and we just got back and it was the same thing.
So, I really don't know if he is constipated or what. Usually if he has the runs he has to go almost every hour and this has not been the case, also his poop is not foul smelling like when he has diarrhea. I went to the store and bought some pumpkin the regular kind, not the type for pie, gave him a teaspoon and a half, since I did not know how much, this was around 4 p.m.
Any thoughts? advice? I would appreciate it, also his stomach is not making any kind of weird noises, his temperament is the same, (velcro dog) but playful. I don't want to freak out, but he has never acted like this.
