Growth on dew claw?????

• Growth on dew claw????? I AM MOM TO STANDARD POODLES AND THEIR DEW CLAWS ARE REMOVED WHEN THEY ARE LITTLE PUPPIES HOWEVER I WAS MOM ONCE TO A MALTESE AND HE HAD DEW CLAWS ONLY ON HIS TWO FRONT LEGS ABOUT 1 INCH ABOVE HIS PAW PADS BUT MORE ON THE INSIDE OF HIS LEGS (LATERALLY) LIKE FACING EACH OTHER. BUT THEY ARE NAILS THE DARK COLOR OR THEY COULD BE CLEAR OR WHITE. THEY WILL GROW LIKE THEIR OTHER NAILS. BUT THEY DIDN'T TURN GRAYISH. AND WERE NOT ON THE BACK OF THE LEG HALF WAY UP.  SOUNDS TO ME MORE LIKE A CALLOUS ( I DON'T KNOW IF I SPELLED THAT RIGHT?) LIKE MY POODLES IF THE DEW CLAW IS REMOVED THERE IS NOTHING THERE JUST A SMOOTH LEG HAIR GROWING NATURALLY.
