Dog vs. Exlax?

    Dog vs. Exlax?

My friends dog *MAY* have accidently eaten an exlax. The dog weighs approximately 15lbs and he's just a handful (almost as bad as Nikki! [:-])  What should she do?  We did a quick search on google, she's not terribly computer savy and I'm not a great googler and it's too late to call the vet here.

Any help would be really appreciated.  Thanks!

pull kibble. Maybe give a small amount of rice since it easy of the tummy. I usually pull food for first 24 hours if really "squirty".
Make sure she doesn't get dehydrated - very likely if having bad diarhea. If she won't drink you could try ice cubes, chicken broth (low sodium/unsalted) or pedialyte (diluted with water)
Call the vet or poison control (animal) as ExLax can have chocolate and sweeteners in it (not sure which one you bought). Any way to determine how many are missing from package? Any foil or plastic missing?
    Monitor for distress.

Thank's JPrinz [:)]  She pulled his kibble last night and then found the pill this morning in the sink [8|]  She was panicking last night, of course.  He's just a little guy.  Basically she was getting ready to take one and dropped it.. and then he was darting around under her feet and she thought he might have gobbled it down before she could react.

I told her to post and ask about it here, but she was embarassed that her first post on IDog would be about her exlax!  Heh.  So, here I am.  Anyway, alls well that ends well.. and it looks like it all ended up OK.

    Thanks again!

I am so happy nothing happened, in hindsight. Like you said - all's well that ends well.

I originally thought that the dog got into the whole package by being sneaky. I will admit, it would have made me chuckle to see a post about "Ooops, I think the dog ate my ex-lax".[:D]

Hope all continues to go well for everyone in the future. By the way, my past dog got into christmas candy once- we won't even discuss the case of hershey squirts...[8D]

Obviously she doesn't realize how many goofy poop threads we have! With feces discussed in gross detail!

I have had those scary moments with pills, too. I keep advil and acid reflux meds in my pants pockets, and I'm so careful to make sure when I take them off that I don't dump the pockets on the floor. Loose pills and inquisitive dogs, a bad combination! I understand her panic.

Prinz - once she mentioned her concern about her first post being about exlax, I immediately started laughing.  Sick sense of humor.  I figure I know enough people on here to know they wouldn't think less of me as a human if they assumed my friend was really "me" that was getting ready to take an exlax. Jean - [sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif][sm=rofl.gif]  I sent her the link of this originally, and then resent it after your post.  We do talk alot about poop here!
