Advice on the itchies...

Chasza, I haven't read through all of the replies but I noted on one of yours that you said she's on thyroid meds. If her weight has decreased she may need her thyroid med decreased or else she'll drop weight quickly just by the increased metabolism of a higher dose than her body weight may need at this time.
My dog weighs less than she used to when she began thyroid meds and at one point we were having a bit of trouble keeping weight on her, then the vet lowered her thyroid med, just a bit (.05 mg less) but it helped considerably and still kept her T3 and T4 within normal range as before. It really didn't have much bearing on her panel results, but I can tell in her weight that it was very helpful.

I'm new here so I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds, but from my understanding (years of experience with equine nutrition), the food allergery tests (serum or otherwise) are not that accurate when it comes to dogs --and they are also quite expensive for the owners

Welcome to the forum; I agree; the dermatologist I take Jessie to thinks serum testing for food allergies is unreliable, and so does my regular vet. There are some very good prescription foods with ingredients like kangaroo, rabbit, or venison, so using one of those for an elimination diet isn't hard at all.
