stinky,gross ears

• stinky,gross ears poodlemom Posted : 11/15/2006 1:50:45 PM i just brought my oodle to the vet, not my regular vet.  he was not in.  the vet did find that he had an ear infection (yeast).  i could have told her that!  she said she could not really see into his ears, because of all the brown stuff and hair.   i also could have told her that!  don't you think she should have cleaned his ears out thoroughly so that when i put the drops in, they will get into his ear better?  it cost me $150 between the viist and the two meds i have to use!  also he is being groomed on friday and i am not sure how the groomer should handle his ears.  should i have her pluck them?  LIKE 3 REPLIES 162 VIEWS LAST POST MARTY_GA Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available. • marty_ga Posted : 11/15/2006 5:09:49 PM Davet is right there...I didn't even think of that, even though we have to have that done to one of our dogs.  When the ears are really gunky and inflamed, they hurt a lot.  And it's a battle for anyone to do a good job cleaning. Flushing leaves the ears squeaky clean without the battle, and you have a better chance for the meds to do their job.  If your Vet doesn't offer that, you might want to go elsewhere, but I think most Vets do this.
