    Emma pulls a new one

Last night, Emma and I were playing, on the couch. We were tugging, and wrestling, and having a good time. Teenie was already in bed, because she was being stupid, so I was taking some time to play the way that Emma likes to play....

She sat down on the opposite end from me, and then lept up like something bit her. Then, she turned around and ATE whatever had bitten her. Oh, boy. She was itching like crazy, and her tail was HUGE. Then, her feets and face started swelling. Her poor little, pretty feets were the size of Sheltie feet! I gave her two Benadryll, some Valerian, some Thuja, and a bath. When I flipped back her ears, to clean them, after the bath, they were full of hives. Poor kid. She's much better this morning, but I gave her more Benadryll (just one, this time) a bit before I fed her. Hopefully, she's not in such an allergic state that her food triggors her.

These dogs are too fast! I need some super hero reflexes or something!

OMG - poor baby !  What made you choose Thuga?  I'm just learning homeopathy.  I have a first aid homeopathy book for dogs and a kit with 50 remedies.

Ohh, where did you get your kit???

Callie reccomended thuja for detoxing. I talked to my boss about it, and he said it's typically used for skin stuff, but it is useful for detox. I thought, "Hmm... skin AND detox! Let's do it!" Worst thing that could happen is nothing.... I had it on hand, so I gave her some[:D] She did seem to recover pretty quickly. She is not nearly as itchy,  today, as she normally would be, and I can't even see where the hives were.

I work with a homeopathic vet who is also allopathic out of Miami.  I do phone consults with him.  He prescibed Thuja for Lola's cherry eye. He said it was good to help eliminate vaccines.  Lola was 4 months with a cherry eye.    About 2 weeks later the cherry eye dissapeared for about 6 hours and came back.  So I reapeated the Thuja 3 more doses in  3days .  Every morining, Both her eyes had a stringy greenish white slime.  She had surgery last week and they removed the cherry eye.  I gave her NUX to rid the anathesia out of her body.  I've given a couple ARNICA to help with pain,,she was also spayed, and had her soft palatte shorten.  Poor thing must be in pain but doesn't act it.

As soon as I get home, I;ll look up in my book about insect bites.   My latest  Homeopathy Today  mag had a whole article on spider bites (think it was Ledum)and what to give.
I think my first inclination would have been to give  NUX to your baby for posioning.

Oh yes, I got my kit from the vet,,Dr. Larry Bernstein.  It has the teeny tiny pills for dogs/cats.  He has a site  [linkhttp://www.naturalholistic.com/nhpc/index.html]http://www.naturalholistic.com/nhpc/index.html[/link].  I take it when I travel too.

Ouch, poor Emma; It never ends with her does it? At least she recovered quickly. Give her some belly rubs for me.

Poor thing! I hope she's doing better!

Oh geez,,,poor Emma!  Hope she is really a lot better now!

I get Bubblegums probiotices from Natures Farmacy, they have a couple homeopathic kits in their catalog...one is called a Homeopathic Medicine box with 50 remedies.  Another is a "animal rescue box" that contains 18  most common remedies fo dogs.

Wow, and I think I've got issues.  I can't believe how fast she reacts.  I hope she's continuing to feel better and better.

Thuja wasn't a bad choice - typically it's for vaccine 'detoxing'.  Heel/BNI has a whole detox kit that is awesome if you can get to Whole Foods, they're selling it now.

Nux would have been good.  And actually I was wishing you had some of Hylands "Hives" -- and since Miss Emma is prone to this stuff you might just keep some on hand for her.  They're the sweet tablets and she'll think they're a treat!!

But for hives you need more of an anthistamine of some sort and one of the allergy ones like apis (in a single) or Hives would be good to keep on hand.

I actually do have hives, but they were not within reach. Thuja was right in the cabinet, so I grabbed that. It did seem to help her recovery time. I gave her some more, tonight. Unfortunately, there is no Whole Foods, near here. Both of the dogs *do* take the homeopathics, really nicely. I give Emma's Leaks No More on food. The package says to, and it's working GREAT, so I figure, why not. Everything else is given straight in the mouth, 15 minutes away from food. I'm fascinated and thrilled by homeopathy, at this point, but I'll always keep Benadryll on hand, for this kid.

She looks great, tonight. She did get another Benadryll, to keep her from scratching. I think I'll give her Hives, three times tomorrow. I'm staying home, from work. I've got a migraine, and all the lovely things that go with it. It's been quite a week.

Bless your heart, I feel for you.  My oldest son gets migraines, tho not as often as he use to.  The least noise, light, etc just seemed hundreds of times louder or brighter when he had one.  He usually felt better after throwing up.  I remember once when he had one when he was about 13 and the crickets were going at it in the back yard and he asked me if i could go chase them away.

Sorry to hear Emma had that reaction.  That is like what kayCee had to her 2ed set of vax, huge hives, temp up to 106.9.  SCAREY time for us.  Glad she is doing well this morning.

I hope you feel better soon; I used to get migraines and after they ended it left me exhausted; take care. Also, I'm going to get some of the stuff you've been talking about for Jessie; Thuja, Nux Vomica. She hasn't had a serious reaction since she started allergy shots but it wouldn't hurt to have some of that around just in case.

My migraines have gotten a lot less frequent, with recognizing triggors, and with acupuncture, but they're not going away, they tell me. I haven't found a drug that touches them yet, or I'd take it. I have RX painkillers, and RX migraine meds, but none of that does much, aside from making me feel worse.

The good news is, Emma looks GREAT today. She's playing and herding and under my feet, like normal.

Nothing has worked on my sons migrains either, except quiet, no light, total rest, and throwing up.  Glad your little one is back to normal this morning.  Do you know what bit/stung her?
