    Worms in Dog Bed

Hi! It's my first time posting here, but I thought somebody might be able to answer my question. When I went to wash my dogs' pillowcase that he sleeps on in a laundry basked, I found some small worm-like things. There were quite a few in there. I uploaded a video to eyespot (it's like YouTube, only better) here: [linkhttp://eyespot.com/share?cmd=permalink&r=338f45bb57c5d73508f5a123a04b96479ae3f0a93eb60c5106d207b08a8ab392415bc99cc4ca9401e6e744abff2d757592c60679fe11fdb95d1754219d4cf1f56ee15142e5717fef]EyeSpot worm video link[/link]

Does anybody know what this is??? I posted a picture below (it's the long skinny thing in the middle), but i think the video will be more helpful.

    Thanks!!

I have no idea what advice to give you, but hopefully bumping this up with get you some help.......  one question - is your dog taking preventative meds like heartguard /frontline /advantix etc? to prevent worms and mosquitoes that can transmit worms?  If so it would less frightening, IMO.

I'm sorry I dont know what that is, but I hope someone might! Good luck!

I'm stuck with dialup and I can't really see anything in your picture.  Is it long and somewhat like spegetti in appearance?  If so, that's round worms.  Or do they look more like rice?  Those would be tapes and tapes are caused by ingesting fleas.  I'm not sure on any of the other lovely parasites what they actually look like and IF they can come out without help.  However, let me say that if the worms are making it out without medication, your dog has a MAJOR worm load and needs treatment.  Worms are not just gross to look at, they can do some real damage to your dog.

I will typically run a stool sample into the vet a couple times a year and have them float a fecal......it's just the smart thing to do to have the stool checked on a pretty regular basis since worms are not all that uncommon.  I think that's the FIRST thing you need to do....get your dog or his stool to the vet first thing Monday morning.  And please do NOT buy those OTC wormers.....some of them are ineffective at best, downright dangerous at worst.  And if you don't know what you're dealing with, you don't know what to treat for.  Bite the bullet on this one and get the meds FROM the vet.

it looks like all the black dots could be flea poop.
get a spray bottle with a fine mist, spray once on the flea dust, if it turms red, thats blood. What that lil worm like creature is I dont know. like glenda said, get a fecal test asap.
