Perianal Adenoma

Hi,

I am looking at a dog that is up for adoption, and it has been mentioned that he has been successfully treated for perianal adenoma.  The rescue says that it was caught early, found to be malignant, and remissed right away.  From what little I have read on the internet, I have gathered that a malignant perianal tumor would be call "perianal adenocarcinoma," and not "perianal adenoma," so I am not exactly sure what condition the dog has or had.

I have yet to speak to someone from the rescue about this dog, but I would like to know if anyone else has had experience with this sort of condition.  Are the chances of it recurring high?  I don't know when the dog was neutered, but he is anywhere between 4-6 years old and a 10lb fox terrier mix.

If anyone could share their experience or thoughts on this condition, I would be very grateful!

Thanks!

Nina
