    worms

My dog has worms and want to get rid of it asap, do I have to give it the shot or is there some sort of food medicine to get rid of it?

How do you know your dog has worms? If a vet told you, they would have given you medicine, there are a lot of different kinds of worms, so it would depend on what kind.

because when I was walking my puppy I should say, it took a dump and had worms in its dropings. It also keep crapping all the time and had blood at one point so I think its pretty bad at this point.

You need to take your dog to the vet and you need to take a stool sample with you.  IF you are seeing blood it is imparitive that you get the dog to a vet for the proper treatment.

Your pup needs to be vetted immediately.  Most of the stuff you can buy over the counter is worthless, so you really need to get your pup, and a stool sample into the vet.  If you can SEE worms in the poop, it's likely round worms and he's got a heavy duty load of worms to be passing them without medication.  He needs immediate vet care.

Agreed. Call your vet for an appointment ASAP.

Total agreement, a vet visit ASAP do not wait.  Also do not buy over the counter worm medications, your vet needs to examine the fecal and see what kind of worms your pup has and he will treat him or her accordingly.  Be sure to take a fecal sample with you to the vets.  Good luck and keep us updated.

For your pup's life, he needs to get to the vet.  Also sometimes tape worms show up in poop.  I have never encountered whip worms, so no idea about them, adn those blood sucking hook worms are attached to the dogs guts and you wont' see them.

    Hello there [:)]

Take the advise we all are giving you, and get to the vet quick (as there are some dangerous worms out there also). From the brief facts you are writing, I would guess that this will need nothing more but a brief exam and quite possibly precisely one tablet to cure. In other words, nothing that will break the bank. [:D]

Just out of curiosity, why did you not go to the vet right away?

I sure hope this puppy got into the vet today. Those worms can kill a puppy and if they are coming out without medication and blood is involved, that's not good.
