How could I be so stupid? I had given the puppy a small nylabone (gumabone- softish plastic) to chew.

Well, Red (60 pound golden) snuck up on the bed and ate it while I was sleeping. I woke to hear him crunching and I grebbed a piece out of his mouth and another on the bed,,they were about 1” or less. I ‘m sure he ate the rest about 3 inches worth. Not only that, I think he ate the other one that I can#%92t find. SXXT !!!!!

SO I gave him a dose of homeopathic NUX art 7:30 am.

I#%92m hoping he#%92ll puke it up in a few hours. He has puked up piles of shredded plastic toys before….

This is screwing up his lyme antibiotic dose for this am – I didn#%92t give it hoping he will puke.

The bad thing is I don#%92t think plastic shows up on x-rays??

I guess the big question is does he usually chew things thoroughly?Or is he more likely to swallow large pieces?If he chews fairly well it should be able to pass fine.If not just watch carefully for any signs of blockage.Keep a close eye on pooping and eating /drinking and take him in at any suspicion of distress.Hope everything "comes out" OK.

He is eating and drinking fine. I saw him gagging this morning and I think he is trying to puke it up. I heard him gagging th previous day and now I know why, he had eaten the other gumabone I think.

Before, he has vomitied up this type of soft nylabone in hundreds of tiny pieces. But that was a "wolf" size bone and he had to take time to chew off the tiny piece.

This was "Puppy" gumabone and I grabbed an 1" piece out of his mouth, I doubt he was going to chew it up before swallowing.

I am finishing his antibotic for lyme and so far, he is holding it down.

Its very hard for me to check his poop cause we live on a steep hill and he goes on the hill or in the woods with poison ivy. He really won;t go on a leash or on the flat surface.
