    Prayers for "Jersey"

    Hello,

I am the RMSF/Hypothyroidism topic person and I wanted to send a request out for prayers for my baby girl.  To update, I have taken her back to the vet and her anemia is better, but that's it.  We are increasing the Thyroid medicine and doubling the Prednisone and the Vet said she should show some difference good or bad in the next week.  I have his pager # if we have any problems.  Unfortunately, she is feeling worse, has fallen a couple of times in the last few days.  My Wonder-Vet (and I )am starting to fear that the RMSF has done so much damage that we may never catch up.
Her name is Jersey, she is 5 years old, and she is a Border Collie / St. Bernard Mix.   I adopted her from the pound on her last day(of course), she had been abused and was afraid of everything and everyone.  She is the best tempered and best mannered dog I have ever owned...and I've had a few.  She is calm, and sweet and loving.  Everyone always comments on how well she is trained, and I have to explain that she's never had a lick of training and is just excellent on her own.  Anyway...we are not even close to giving up...I'm just having a hard time watching her have a hard day.

Anyway, please remember Jersey in your prayers...I would be very thankful

I don't know what RMSF means but I will pray for Jersey; she is a sweetheart. How very lucky she was to be adopted by someone as caring as you; I'm sure her life is much happier now. Keep us posted about how she does; Feel better soon Jersey.

Sorry for being unclear.  RMSF  stands for Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever - a tick bourne illness that is very rare and very dangerous.  The weird thing is...we've never even seen a tick on either of our dogs.  Jersey is brushed every month so we've no idea how she could have gotten it.

Anyway...thanks to all for keeing us in their prayers...we had a little better morning today...so we'll just keep fighting and let everyone know how things are going.

    God Bless
