some kind of mite or what

Hi My little chihuahua yelps sometimes like something as bitten him like a flea or mite and than starts biting himself where it seems something has bitten him, so I grab him check him all over and can't find a thing, he is moslty white so it is easy to see fleas but I can find any, I do not really have a problem with fleas, I am lucky, does anyone have any suggestions? Are mites difficult to see?

If he is on flea preventative and has no fleas. I would have a vet examin him as it sounds to me like a nerve problem some where. Chih's are prone to back problems. Just my opinion.

Is he scratching himself A LOT? It could be sarcops if that's the case. But what forpaws has said is VERY wise -- it's vet time.

Hi He does not do it very often maybe once a fortnight or so and mainly around his um ar balls and the back of his legs and none of my other dogs do it either
sounds like we are off to the vet
What are sarcops?
