    Dry heaving!! Help!

Help, this is the first time I've ever seen my dog like this. She went with the dog walker today for the whole day, because the dog walker was running late so she took her for the second walk. In short, the dog came home at 4:30 (left at 11:30), and about an hour ago she threw up her breakfast AND her dinner and now she's dry heaving, and shaking ... I know her stomach gets upset when she's in the car for too long, and I'm guessing she had a good two hours of riding along picking up dogs today, so I think that's it... but she's really sick, puking yellow stuff, and shaking. Is there anything I should do??? I hate to see her like this!!

Does she like ice cubes? Try and get her to eat some of these at least to keep her hydrated.  Poor thing.  Other than that I don't know. This only happened once with Scout and we ended up at the e-vet as he was only 12 weeks old.  I'm sure a few more will chime in...

Roxanne-I'd call the emergency vet and describe the symptoms and her day like you did here and see what they suggest.  They might tell you what you should do or to bring her in.  Then let us know!  Good luck, I hope it's just something minor.

    How's Janku??

She turned out to be fine at around 3am, thankfully (I woke up and she wasn't heaving anymore), and yesterday she seemed to feel better, but was really exhausted and today she's got all her colors back. I think the three days in a row of going to parks with her dog walker just exhausted her, and the car rides. Too much excitement in one week perhaps.

    Thanks!!

Very glad to hear she is feeling better...but for the future. If she is sick and can't stop the heaving, try giving her a tablespoon of Peach syrup (from a can of peaches) It coats the stomach and eases the heaving so she (and you!) can get some rest.
