    NEW PUPPY..PLEASE HELP

[:)]Hi, we just got a new puppy. Her name is Mia, she is a poodle born on April 06, 2006
When can I start bathing her? Right now she has been getting her behind stained when she goes to the bathroom, does anyone now how I can remove that?

    Thanks,
    Brenda[:)]

They make all kinds of doggie wipes that you can get.  They've even got Tushie Wipes in a container too!

I brought my puppy home a 8 weeks and the breeder had aready bathed him, so I would imagine it is OK. If you are worried it is too soon and wet cloth should do the trick!

It's fine to bathe her now- as a matter of fact, you should!  If she's developing a staining issue, it's best to nip it in the bud.

The best whitening shampoo that was highly  recommended to me and really works, is EZ Groom Crystal White.  This is tearless, safe for puppies, effective and not harsh or drying like a lot of other whitenening shampoos.

Read the directions on the bottle.  You can use this as a treatment for her stained areas until they are gone, and as an all over shampoo.

For maintenance of areas that get soiled frequently, you can use a rinseless shampoo like this one (from the same website)

This is great for removing stains as they occur, pre-treating soiled areas, etc. You could use this everyday on her rear and paws...

You can always take her to the vet/groomer and have her "poop chute" (or in nicer terms a "sanitary")  shaved. That will help stop the poop from getting stuck in the hair because the hair will be shaved.
