Just don't get carried away or your dog might look like this:

No, this is NOT Dakota.  You're not supposed to shave American Eskimo Dogs (or any other double-coated dog!)!
    • Bronze
LOL That is a great photo. Good thing you pointed out that it wasn't your gorgeous pup or I'd have given you an earful about shaving. haha

Jennie, have you checked out the Manic Panic hair coloring products? I read on a different forum that many groomers use them with great success. There sure is a great variety in color. The owners of the line (designed for people) love pets and have used it on one of their own dogs. I cannot find much info about its safety, just going on what others have said so far. Also, I don't know how it is applied.

Once your pup is healed up and you get to color her, be sure to post a pic here so I can see how it turns out.

Hmm. How about purple and blue? If your going for just one color I would so go with purple. Alot of people die their dogs pink a purple dog would be a neat sight to see. When ever you do it there better be some pictures I can't wait to see what she looks like when you do this to her.

There will DEFINITELY be pictures:) I can't decide between pink and purple. I may do both, or do one, then the other when it wears off.

I'm not using Manic Panic, b/c it wears off quickly. I'm going to use Special Effects, a similar product.

You can go to [linkhttp://www.groomers.com]www.groomers.com[/link] and do a search for dying...there is alot of information on it there.

How bout' a neat tye dye look? Like a living kalidascope!

Or what about an ocean theme? Sand and surf, so to speak!

I bet you'll have loads of fun, and come up with lot's of ideas.

LOL, I'm going to start with ONE color[:D] I've only dyed my own hair before, never a dog. When I get the hang of it, I may start trying to do designs. I've seen some REALLY cool ones on Poodles. I don't know how well the dye will penetrate and stick to Emma's fur, as it's VERY different than Poodle hair. It should be a lot of fun, though!
