Nail Polish ??

    Nail Polish ??

I have a neighbor that paints her dogs nails.  Just wondering what anyone thinks about that.  Not something I would do personally.

I used to do this per request when I was a groomer.  We had doggy nailpolish that dried a lot faster than human nail polish.  If the dog sits still lol I didn't mind doing it.  I think this is a purely a personal preference.  Some people get really into manicuring their dogs nails, and some could care less (outside of course of keeping the nails trimmed).

Personally, not my cup of tea.  But, to each their own :)

I might have a nail painting problem. I can't paint mine. It wears off in less than a day. I paint Teenie's, and occasionally, Emma's. Teenie LOVES the whole process, and lays, toes up, to have her nails trimmed, filed, and painted, every week. I also massage foot toughening cream into her pads. She gets a full pedicure.

Emma stands stiffly on a table, and has the "Why ME?!??!" face the whole time, so I usually just Dremel hers.

Polish would never last on my dogs, they are way too active............besides, they would look like a bunch of girly dogs....and they are all males[:D]

Unless I'm way behind, I polish all the female poodle nails. I hardly ever get comments or requests for this service, I just think it looks nice and dressy[:)].  The dog looks so coordinated if I can get the bows, bandanna, and nail polish to match.

My husband's cousin's girls paint their Weimeraner's nails! It's really kind of cute. For homecoming they use school colors, red, white & blue for 4th of July, etc. But the girl's dad isn't impressed. Apparently, his hunting buddies thought a gun dog with pink nail polish wasn't very manly.

If I had a girl dog who didn't squirm, I Might do it, and I have tried on Sam, but all that happens is the polish gets stuck on his fur and I end up mutilating the fur on his paws trying to get all the polish out...

Look at Meilanis nails...I can't even do that to myself [sm=eek.gif]

I do not use it, Trudy has lots of hair, but some people do and it is so cute. As long as the doggie is happy and it dries fast and they do not lick it, I say great!

I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE to have Ella's nails painted.

BUT I know she'd NEVER sit still for me through it.

I've never used it on Willow.  My personal style isn't particularly girlie-girl.  We like to be active and hike and stuff like that.  So, like my own I just keep her's well trimmed.  And, I check her paw pads to make sure they are OK.  But, that's about it.  She's well groomed as far as her coat, $75 hair cuts and blow outs.  But, nothing much more than the basics with the nails.

Plus her nails are black, would it even show up?

Teenie's nails are black, too. Dog nail polish shows up, with one coat. Human takes a couple.

I paint my dogs nails all the time. They don't seem to mind it. Here's some pictures...
