    A cute Westie

I just had to share a photo of one of my grooming clients.

This is Bailey, she's quite a little devil!

The first one (hopefully) is a before shot and the second one is an after pic.

Oh what a cutie!!! And what a nice job!!!!!!!!!!!  dang, i gotta go learn somemore tec's on cutting.

Very cute!!! Do you clip her or strip her? She has a pretty texture to her coat.

Wow, you do a great Westie!  Since you obviously know your stuff, how did you get that dog's topknot to stay up like that?  It seems like all the adorable Westies that leave my shop have heavy/droopy topknots.[8D]

    I would appreciate some hints![:D]

    Thanks all.

Bailey's coat is not the best, but better than most "pet" quality westies.

I clip her back and throat/neck and scissor her head/face/skirt. My trick with the head is to use blending (thinning) shears to do the head. Also, when drying the coat, dry in the opposite direction of the coat growth to get it to "stand up".
I'm still learning, but love doing the terrier breeds, as their always such a challenge [sm=crazy.gif]  There's a great book that I use called "notes from the grooming table" which is a fantastic reference.

Here's one of her from the side.

Well, I only use thinning shears on the face anyway.[:)]  Drying in reverse is something I will try.

Notes from the grooming table is an awesmoe book!  I refer to it constantly.  The graphics in that book are just wonderful.

She's a beautiful Westie[:D] Definitely a very nice coat, for a pet dog.

    You did a great job.
