With summer just around the corner, be sure to watch for signs of heat stroke in your pooch. Heavy panting, raised temperature, rapid heart rate. Best to keep you dogs cool and calm on really hot days, heat stroke can occur when a dog is just sitting still. Dogs regulate heat through panting so on a really hot day a dog stuck in a hot space can get into real trouble. If you suspect your dog is over heating get them into a cool place or a warm bath and gradually cool the water, never put your dog into a cold tub or give them ice cubes it can upset the belly and cause lots of problems. Always call your vet if you are not sure what to do. Keep summer fun, keep summer safe!
