I currently use Andis AG Super 2 speed clippers. I will tell you this- if you want good clippers, you won't pay less than $100 for them. I usually buy mine from a grooming superstore- (petedge or ryanspets) but you can buy them here- at dog.com

You will also need to get an actual blade for clipping the hair since the blade that it comes with is a VERY short blade used for trimming under the eyes and the sanitary area. How short do you keep them clipped in the summer? (as in inches) normally summer clips (at least around here) are about 1/8 of an inch. (a #7 blade)
What I use on my dog all year round is a #5 which keeps the hair at about 1/4 of an inch, but in all honesty, (IMO) it doesn't look very good on double coats- it

robably will look very choppy. The cleanest cut witth their hair would be a #7.
As far as brands go, it's a personal liking, I personally use Andis because I have found it's the most quiet and stays cool the longest (although all blades you'll have to get cool laube- a spray to cool off the blades so it doesn't burn the dog.) Osters are my least favorite because they're big and bulky and I have little hands, and they are noisy- and get hot.
Good luck!
